Soon after the discovery of gold in South Dakota the Standing rock Sioux tribe started to have more conflicts with the us authorities. The the conflict would build up until The Great Sioux Wars of 1870. Sitting bull and Crazy Horse with many other tribes would defeat the federal troops. After the wars sitting bull and his tribe fled to Canada for many years. After being caught he finally surrendered to us troops forcing him to a reservation.

At the start of the summer of 1865 the US soldiers constantly invaded the powder river. With only the occasional encounter with them he started to watch and learn the way they fight to help him in the future. Later in 1868 Red Cloud signed the fort Laramie Treaty agreeing to live on a reservation. When the word got out and others found out how life was on a reservation many others started to follow sitting bull and resist to sign any treaties and to never live on a reservation. In 1873, after a small fight against Lt. Col. George Armstrong Custer. After little battles here and there Sitting Bull and Custer met in the battle of Little Bighorn. This fight mad both men blow up and become famous. During the war he predicted that many soldiers would fall. This mad all his followers think he had magical powers, that bought them the victory.
